Week 4 in Primary 1

5th Feb 2021

Primary 1 have worked so incredibly well this week that it is hard to believe that they are just 4 and 5 years old! Our week began with another new sound to explore and making our own counting sticks from old swimming noodles, rolls of wrapping paper or cardboard tubes! The children then discovered some facts about a Tyrannosaurus Rex and an Ankylosaurus, before researching some dinosaurs of their own! Mental Health Awareness Week led to a step challenge where lots of the boys and girls gained a step count much higher than Mrs.Burns and completed this in the rain. Others helped on the farm to relax, did some baking, had fun in the park or collected litter along the road. The next task was to create an imaginative story of a time when they visited Dinosaur World, using their very own picture or the My Story app to create. These were the highlight of our week and so we have shared them with you! The children were also busy making their own pictograms at home and we discovered that blue was the most popular colour in our class after taking a vote via Seesaw. The week ended with a movement and fitness activity, where the children expressed themselves like Rosita, the mummy pig in the movie, “Sing.”

We hope you are as proud of your hard work as we are and have a great weekend!
