Term 2 phonics fun!
It may only be January, but our phonics learning is off to a flying start. The children are putting in fantastic effort as they learn the Jolly Phonics songs and actions. During our lessons, we have been sorting our sound of the week as well as revisiting the sounds we’ve already learned.
Mrs Gribben has been working with us to see how many CVC words we can build, using picture and sound frames to help. The middle sound can be a bit tricky, but everyone is giving it their best—and that’s all we can ask for!
In guided reading, we are using our high‑frequency words to build sentences and looking out for full stops and capital letters. We are well on our way to writing simple sentences and have already been sent some fantastic efforts from home.
Keep up the great work, everyone!
