Rainforests
12th Mar 2026
Our children have been busy learning about the rainforest by recreating its four layers—the forest floor, understory, canopy and emergent layer—using cardboard boxes and recycled materials. They showed fantastic creativity, carefully designing animals, plants and details to match each layer while thinking about how we can reuse and recycle materials to help our planet.
What made this project extra special was the teamwork on display. Children worked independently on their own creations but also supported one another by sharing ideas, helping with construction and offering encouragement. It was wonderful to see them collaborating so positively, learning together and taking pride in both their own work and the success of their peers. Once the project was complete, the class proudly showcased their rainforest models during a whole-school assembly
