P.6 Authors and illustrators of the future

17th Jan 2026

Over the last two weeks, Primary 6 have been exploring the wonderful world of fables. They investigated well‑known traditional tales, identifying the key features that make fables so unique—talking animals, imaginative settings, and, most importantly, a meaningful life lesson at the end. Working in pairs, the pupils then used their learning to plan and design their own original fable storyboards. Each group created a tale with a thoughtful moral, ranging from the importance of kindness and honesty to the value of patience and teamwork.

Once their storyboards were complete, the class moved on to the exciting task of turning their ideas into real books using Book Creator. They imported photographs of their storyboard scenes, added text, and carefully designed each page to bring their stories to life. The final goal was to share their fables with the Primary 1 children, giving P6 the chance not only to be authors and illustrators, but also storytellers and role models. The pupils worked with great enthusiasm and creativity, and their finished books are something they can be very proud of.

P.1 even kept one of our books as their topic is Bears.
