P4 WW2 Day in School

25th Apr 2026

P4 have thoroughly enjoyed their topic of WW2. They have gained a great insight into aspects of History and been incredibly enthusiastic throughout. Their interest and engagement is to be commended.

This week we had a WW2 day in school where we all came in dressed as teacher and pupils from the 1940s. We travelled back in time and completed activities as though we were in school back then. We wrote in chalk, we rote counted like they did and we played games from 1940s like marbles, skipping and hopscotch. The pupils worked together to make an outdoor air raid shelter and we explored what it would be like to be stuck under a Morrison type shelter in class. One activity most of us loved was learning how to sew! A great day was had by all, and it is a memory we will always have. Thank you to all the parents and pupils for making such a great effort. Your support is really appreciated.
