P2 Trip Spa Forest School

5th May 2026

Last Friday Primary Two pupils from St Colman’s and Fair Hill travelled to Spa Woods Forest School in Ballynahinch for our final Shared Education trip. We split up into teams with boys and girls from the opposite school to play and learn together in the outdoor environment. We made birds nests using natural materials around us. To make our birds nest strong, we had to build the walls of the nests slightly higher so our eggs didn’t roll away. We then moved on to the clay station where we made animals that hibernate out of clay. There were some fabulous hedgehogs! Lastly, we got to explore what was on offer during play, such as swings, slides and having competitions to see who could dig the biggest hole! To end our trip, we toasted marshmallows and made s’mores, a sweet treat to finish off a fun packed day!
