Christmas preparations begin in school as soon as Halloween ends and this year was no exception where P2 had a busy few weeks of playing their way through the magic of Christmas. With lots of pretending, dressing up and big imaginations, they acted out meeting Santa, preparing Christmas dinner, wrapping presents, re-creating the Nativity using play-dough and made lots of glittery crafts. Playtime then was shortened a little with the busyness of Carol Service singing and children took on the roles of Sleepy Shepherds and shared their special letters to Santa. We decorated the classroom, made paper chains, measured how tall we were using wool for Christmas snowmen baubles and devoured our tasty Christmas dinner together. We clapped for the Nursery and KS2 Christmas celebrations, our Christmas jumpers have certainly got their money’s worth and were delighted to get a special letter from the North Pole before a visit from Santa himself! With loud and happy singing, laughter and excitement lots of special memories were made and therefore it definitely is the best time of the year!
