Today was the first afternoon our P7 children got to experience outdoor play and we wish we recorded the speed at which they got their wet gear on and rushed outside! There was little chat, they were straight to work, adding water to the bark in the kitchen, carrying buckets and moving wheelbarrows to explore water travel and collection. Forts and garages were constructed, water supplies connected to homes for washing machines, showers and daily use. The only disappointing part was how quickly the time flew and the pupils left some of their creations for our younger children in the morning. Our next step is to introduce our new ‘Play photographer’ vests to two children each week to create a play journal or log through photographs of their outside learning. Perhaps these could be used as not only part of a plenary but even a weekly blog of their individual or group play adventures. Keep up your energy and enthusiasm P7, you were a pleasure!
