“Now I know how to help someone in danger, even though I am little.”

1st Jun 2025
P2 were a little unsure when Mrs.Burns told them that even little people who are six years old can help someone in danger. They watched the clip of how a three year old girl phoned an ambulance for her pregnant mummy, who had fallen and therefore saved her little brother being born too early. We began with Rhian’s day from the HeartStart programme and the children learned the five steps of how to get help. They checked for danger, checked for response, called for help, gave directions to the ambulance control centre and remained with the casualty until help arrived. They correctly re-created the park scene of Rhian and her mummy with a partner and are looking forward to the next lesson on how to help someone who is unconscious.
