In our Nursery, we have been learning all about the importance of family. We explored the idea that we all belong to different families—our family at home, our wider extended family, and our special nursery family. The children enjoyed talking about their emotions and learned that it’s normal to feel lots of different ways, as long as we share our feelings with someone we trust. We also explored our amazing bodies, discovering the purpose of features like eyebrows and eyelashes! The children loved chatting about their own families and the things they enjoy doing together. They proudly brought in family photos to show their friends, which now form part of our beautiful family display. As part of our learning, we focused on drawing recognisable body features—heads, bodies, arms and legs—and used numbers and shapes to help us create our pictures. Come along and take a look at our wonderful family display!
