Jimmy Choo watch out…
30th Jan 2025
On Monday our story time book just happened to be ‘The Elves and the Shoemaker’. The boys and girls really enjoyed this story and the spontaneous activity that came from it. After story time I set a task at the creative table to pretend we were the elves and to decorate a shoe for the shoemaker to sell in his shop. The children drew around their own shoe and using crayons, pencil, material they were to make then as bright and colourful as possible. The children really enjoyed this task, so much learning was gained here:
Language Development- retelling of a story, describing their shoe
Early Mathematic Experiences- talking about shapes and sizes “I’m adding stars to my shoe.” “I have hearts and rainbows on mine.”
WAU- talking about experiences in the shoe shop “Mummy got me new shoes at the Outlet.”
PM&D- children have been developing pencil control and scissor skills
ARTS- exploring their creativity and using their imagination
PSED- excitement for learning
