In this task, our children were asked to design an invitation to a Halloween party. They worked individually during play based learning to login to Just2Easy using their QR code, select the ‘mix’ option and their chosen Halloween background. As they began to add appropriate images they quickly realised that pumpkin icons were not the best choice on the orange background and the black haunted houses were not as clear on the black scene. They chose a thin paintbrush option and also added relevant pictures of their own to complete the graphic. Next came the part to compose on-screen and they chatted about what they wanted their invitation to say. They decided that the time, place and who the invitation was from were crucial details and so set out to type these, learning the most important feature of all, the space bar! Some of our children knew how to find the number option to detail the time for their Halloween party and others added a little detail of what you might expect to see when you get there.
