Pupils in P4 this week were tasked with reenacting the story of Grace Darling, a Victorian-era heroine who, with her father, rescued survivors of a shipwreck on September 7, 1838. The activity involved them listening to a storyteller describe the rescue from the SS Forfarshire, and then they used drama to portray the scenes. We showed Grace approaching the lighthouse when moving for the first time, the discovery of the storm and the boat, the dangerous boat journey across stormy seas, the rescue of the nine survivors and the care afterwards. Some superb interpretations and acting. Well done P4!
