This week in P2 we have been working hard on our new class topic of The Jungle. We began by sharing our own knowledge with peers and locating Jungles on the Atlas app where we found them in Africa and South America, near the equator. This is because the climate there is warm and wet and animals like to live here because there is an endless supply of food, water and shelter. We watched an informative video on our interactive board about the jungle habitat and looked at contents of fact books in our classroom to find out more information about the many animals found there. We then decided to use language and features of non-fiction texts to share these new facts, adding key words, drawings and actual pictures from the word mats we used.
