In our P4 STEM challenge, we worked as engineers to design and make a parachute that could safely carry an egg inside a plastic cup. The pupils were given time to research and explore ideas for making parachutes from everyday materials. They then had to think of the best way to protect the egg during a drop test. We had 3 eggs survive the drop - those surrounded by a little bubble wrap or tissue paper and the parachutes were able to catch the air and slow the fall a little. Lots of fun was had by all. 🪂 Next time we will try a higher drop.
