Wellbeing Wednesday

1st Feb 2021

Children's Mental Health Week- the theme this year is ‘express yourself’. By talking openly about mental health from a young age, children can learn to better understand their emotions, break down stigma, and feel safe enough to reach out for help when it’s needed. Talking about mental health and expressing our feelings can be difficult, no matter our age. During lockdown, it’s more important than ever to share how we’re feeling with others and look after our mental health. Throughout this week children will engage in tasks which explore why being able to express ourselves matters, and encourage children to think of creative ways they can share their feelings.

On Wednesday 3rd we will have a 'Wednesday Wellbeing' Day. This should be a day when everyone switches off the laptops, tablets and IT equipment and use it as a day to look after our Wellbeing.  Staff will provide some age related mental wellbeing activities, but these are optional. So please pause, relax, recharge and use the time to bake, walk, read, colour or be creative.

Our bodies and minds are  very closely linked, so things that we do to improve our physical wellbeing can help our mental wellbeing. Miss Brannigan has kindly organised a step challenge for Wednesday, please see attached poster. We look forward to seeing how many steps the St.Colman's & All Saints' Community can clock up on Wednesday!!
