Primary One are working hard and spreading kindness!

23rd Nov 2020

If you could go down to Primary 1 you would be in for a big surprise as there are bears everywhere! We have been looking at the well known story of Goldilocks and what we thought she might say if she was to visit the bears cottage and say sorry. We thought the bear family would accept her apologies but that wasn’t always the case when our children took on these character roles! ‘Bears’ formed a huge focus for our play activities as well as Literacy and Numeracy task boxes and we planned a picnic with our favourite teddy as well as discovering all about the eight main types of bears in our world. During Anti-bullying week, we listened to an interactive story about filling our bucket, had circle time using an empty bucket as our speaking object and then illustrated the bucket we would fill that day and how. We realise that in filling other people’s buckets with acts of kindness, we too fill our own imaginary bucket at the same time. Preparations for our part in the Nativity ‘The Innkeepers Breakfast’ are underway, the play-room is transformed into Santa’s workshop and so it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
