Catholic Schools Week in St.Colman’s

30th Jan 2021

In these current times, parents, children, staff and everyone certainly know how it feels to be part of a community of faith and resilience. This special week, a letter was posted to all of our children telling them how proud we are of their dedication at home. This included a family prayer to share together as well as a rewarding ‘Day off home-learning voucher.’

In Primary 1, familiar prayers were shared each morning through Seesaw. Mrs.Burns introduced Grandparents Day and her Granda Patsy and special memories she has of him. The boys and girls were then encouraged to illustrate in a drawing or explain why they love their grandparents so much.

In Primary 3, the pupils focused on the story of Moses freeing the slaves, leading them to safety and how it is an example of perseverance. They completed work on their parish, The Lost Sheep, The Prodigal Son and still had time to make certificates for their grandparents. Some children even created reports on St. Brigid and made crosses for her feast day on Monday. Well done!

Let’s hope St.Brigid brings the arrival of longer, warmer days and the early signs of Spring soon.
